One door, or different zones
Separate public areas from staff rooms, stock storage and back-of-house spaces. We work through normal opening hours, after-hours entry and the people who should be able to reach each area.
Hardware that suits the door
Door material, frame condition, closers and existing locks all affect the design. An electric strike or magnetic lock is selected after assessing the opening and its exit requirements, rather than choosing equipment from a photograph alone.
Keep entry and exit in the same plan
Controlled entry must be considered alongside normal exit, emergency release and power failure behaviour. Relevant building requirements and responsibilities are established before the final hardware is specified.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
A little clarity.
Can access control be fitted to our existing doors?
The door, frame, closer, locking hardware and cable route need to be surveyed first. Suitable parts may be retained, while any preparation or replacement is identified in the quotation.
Do all doors need the same lock or reader?
No. A public entrance, internal staff door and stockroom can have different usage and hardware requirements. We assess each opening and select the arrangement that suits its purpose and exit requirements.
How are exit and power-failure arrangements decided?
Controlled entry is considered alongside normal exit, emergency release and loss of power. The building's requirements and the responsibilities of relevant trades and site stakeholders must be established before hardware is specified.
