COMMERCIAL ACCESS SYSTEMS · PERTH

UniFi Protect. More context at the entrance.

Bring relevant camera coverage into your access plan so authorised managers can understand what happened at a door or gate.

01

Cover the point of entry

Camera placement should show the approach and entrance clearly, without relying on a general overview from too far away. We consider lighting, mounting position and the purpose of each view.

02

Connect events where supported

Compatible UniFi Access and Protect configurations can help connect entry activity with useful video context. Recording hardware, storage, application versions and permissions are checked as part of the design.

03

Agree who can see and retain footage

Video access is a separate responsibility from door access. We discuss operator permissions, the intended retention period and signage or privacy requirements with the business before finalising the camera scope.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

A little clarity.

Can door activity be connected with camera footage?

Compatible UniFi Access and Protect configurations can support useful video context around an entry event. The applications, hardware, recording setup and permissions are checked before the workflow is included in your scope.

Is an existing overview camera enough for the entrance?

It depends on what the view needs to show. We assess the approach, distance, lighting and mounting position; a wide view from elsewhere on the site may not provide the detail needed at the door.

Do people who manage doors also need access to recordings?

Not necessarily. Door administration and video access are separate responsibilities. Agree who can view or export footage and the intended retention arrangements before setting operator permissions and storage requirements.
