Power and connectivity where they are needed
Access equipment depends on the right network connections and power arrangements. We assess cable pathways, switch capacity, PoE requirements and the position of the console and equipment cabinet.
Keep responsibilities clear
For an existing business network, we agree how the access system connects and coordinate required settings with your IT provider. Administrator ownership and remote access arrangements are included in the handover plan.
Plan for interruptions
Backup power needs to be sized around the connected load and intended operation. We discuss which devices should remain powered and confirm the expected behaviour of doors if power or connectivity is lost.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
A little clarity.
Do we need to replace our business network?
Not automatically. Existing switches, cabling, console and power capacity are reviewed against the proposed access equipment. Necessary changes are coordinated with your IT provider and identified in the scope.
Can the access equipment use backup power?
Backup power can be assessed around the connected devices, their load and the intended operating period. The plan also needs to state how the door hardware behaves when power is lost; a battery alone does not define the complete access response.
Who controls the administrator accounts?
System ownership, administrator roles and remote access arrangements are agreed with the business and its IT provider. These responsibilities should be clear at handover rather than tied to an unspecified personal account.
