Gate and vehicle access. Plan the whole arrival.

Plan controlled entry for staff parking, delivery vehicles and shared driveways, with a suitable way to request or grant access.

01

Understand the arrival

Staff arriving in cars, delivery drivers in trucks and pedestrians need different ways through a site. We consider approach lanes, queuing, visitor calls and the space needed to use a reader safely.

02

Coordinate with the gate equipment

The gate motor, control inputs, safety devices and manual override arrangements need review before an access controller is connected. Access authorisation does not replace the gate’s own safety controls.

03

Choose the release method

An intercom, approved credential or compatible licence plate system may fit the site. We agree the authorised users and visitor procedure and confirm power and network routes to the entry point.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

A little clarity.

Can an access controller connect to our existing gate?

The gate operator, control inputs, release wiring and existing safety devices need review. Compatibility and responsibilities for gate work are confirmed before an access connection is included in the scope.

Should delivery drivers and regular staff use the same entry method?

They may need different arrangements. Staff can use an agreed credential while visitors request entry through an intercom or another supported process. Vehicle size, approach direction and queuing space influence the design.

Does access control replace the gate's safety system?

No. Authorising a vehicle to enter is separate from controlling safe gate movement. The gate's own safety controls, manual override and relevant site requirements remain part of the coordinated plan.
